Want to read more of Perishables? No problem! You can read the rest of “The Vampire” right here as a PDF.
Perishables will be available for purchase in the various ebook formats very soon. Please add this site to your RSS reader, encircle me on Google+, follow me on Twitter or email me using the link at the top of the post if you’d like to be notified when it’s available. In the meantime, please forgive the mess as I tinker with WordPress themes and settings.
If you’re wondering what on earth I’m talking about, Perishables is a novel collecting a trio of independent but connected short stories about zombie apocalypses in unlikely circumstances. Perishables is the winner of the 2012 Laine Cunningham Novel Award andThe Blotter will print the first 20 pages of “Part I: The Vampire” in the July 2012 issue.
The current plan is to conduct a grand experiment with this somewhat experimental work of mine: I’m going to publish it online and document what it takes to sell 10 copies of it to total strangers. Maybe those will happen the day it’s published in The Blotter, or maybe it will take months of marketing. No one online seems to be willing to give a guy a straight answer about how easy – or excruciatingly difficult – it is to sell a book so I’m going to find out for myself and let the world watch while I do. The goal of ten sales might seem modest but I’m not doing this to pay the rent. I write because I love to entertain myself and I’m doing this because I love to experiment. If I fail, no big deal: I consider that as potentially useful of a result as anything else.
In addition to my personal blog I also maintain a photography gallery.
